      <image:caption>Online Therapy Kara Connect This option (using a secure software similar to Zoom/Microsoft Teams) involves regular 50-minute video appointments, usually weekly or fortnightly. Most evidence-based therapeutic approaches that I offer in face-to-face work are also available in remote work, including humanistic, mindfulness-based approaches, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), or an integration of the various models. E-mail **(Please note normal client queries about how to book appointments, find directions etc. are not charged)** However for those who are unable to make time for regular online video sessions, online therapy via email has two options.  One off email communication for guidance (for example about a certain technique) sent by client with one e-mail response returned by me. This may involve some further dialogue free or charge if anything requires clarification. An email dialogue with a requesting guidance with several challenges/techniques, with a response provided following each email received (normally within 48 hours) with a set price per 5 email responses provided.</image:caption>

      <image:title>What is therapy?</image:title>
      <image:caption>What is therapy? Therapy (also called psychotherapy or sometimes counselling) means many different things to many different people, across many different cultures. In Ireland and the U.K. the term “Psychologist” is a legally protected title unlike other terms such as “life coach” and “counsellor” -which can freely be used by anyone. This is important to me as I believe in evidence-based practice, where therapy is informed by current research. With this in mind, my own professional training was grounded in humanistic (treating everyone as human being), and systemic (the belief everything is related) values, and today I use these values as the foundation of my work. In addition, I have many years of professional training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy which allows me to collaborate with clients (the experts in their own lives) and bring specific structure, tools, and techniques to the sessions if the client wishes and where this feels appropriate. Below are some of the challenges for children, young adults, or adults I typically work with but please note this is not an exhaustive list; Stress Generalized Anxiety Panic symptoms/attacks Phobias Depression Self-Esteem Sleep difficulties Relationship difficulties Trauma Understanding neurodiversity (specifically when an individual is experiencing social, behavioural, or relationship difficulties)</image:caption>
